Free Speech demo links

The demo organised by Mark Thomas and supported by many bloggers is pre-reported in The Guardian and the BBC. Huzzah! Makes a change from demos not being reported at all, which is what seems to be happeneing with any anti-war demos.

BBC link & Guardian link.

I had to get my form in earlier, as I was at a music awards ceremony last night and had to meet everyone at 5pm and doors opened at 6pm. It rocked most excellently. And now I have a headache, and a nice phone screensaver of me in a corset, wearing a snake, next to a tattooed man in a cage eating maggots. (Him, not me.) At that point I was still relatively sober. I declined his offer of a snack.

You can still hand your foms in today to join the demo next week. Today is the last day.

I did see Thinloaf, yes. I was too pissed to talk to anyone without making a fool of myself and was amusing clients at the time...I haven't got the lead to upload pics anymore, from phones or my camera, so unfortunately can't put pics up on the blog any more apart from ones already stored.

Much Respect to Mark Thomas. Why isn't the country being run by people like him? But has anyone considered this?: The lone-demonstrator-cannot-be-refused was an insincere token to give the appearance that the Govt. care about our rights. In reality, it's chaff, meagre tidbits, nothing more. I believe there is a deeper reason why the Govt. introduced this ban. Perhaps Blair got tired of constantly being reminded he is guilty of crimes against humanity.

By doing this 'stunt' the Govt. will simply blow away the chaff. The form to fill in to protest will be made much more difficult, time consuming and tedious. Knowing Blairs fantasies about his ID card scheme, it may even require applicants to put down an ID number, "encouraging" those with a political conscience and spirit of opposition to dreadful Blair, to have to 'voluntarily' register for an ID number and be databased. The form will be created in such a way the the police will very quickly be able to reject the form and simply say "No, sorry, you cant protest next week". It is clearly in the nature of this Govt. to trundle down this crooked path.

Things will get worse, and it's our own fault. 1) For not caring about this crushing of our right to protest in a supposed "Democracy" while we had the chance, before the leglislation was pistoned through 2) For acting too late and letting the democracy free zone become engrained upon us 3) For letting the Govt. get away with ignoring the UK's largest peace time protest before Blair went to war against It.

But we have no choice. The authoritarian bent of Blair is putting the UK's principles, rights and freedom norms in severe jeopardy. Just dont lose faith.

Perhaps we should learn from this for future reference, when the Govt. introduce the very sociologically destructive leglisation that the "terrorists" try to bring about via bullets and bombs.

Cheers Tony.

Rachel. Hi. I believe you are familiar with Bridget Dunne.
On her blog, she makes reference to a petition to the Govt. {http://www.petitiononline.com/j7truth/petition-sign.html} to RELEASE THE EVIDENCE that conclusively proves the official report beyond reasonable doubt. Can I ask you to support this petition? As I believe you, like Bridget, are looking for a FULL and independant enquiry.

Regards.
